Double Individual of the Year success at FAB Awards
We say we do things differently here at Training Qualifications UK and what could be more different than two people winning Individual of the Year!
That’s exactly what happened at this year’s FAB Awards as our Managing Director Andrew Walker and End-Point Assessment Director Kelle McQuade won in this category for all their incredible work during the last 12 months. The event was held at the Marriott Hotel in Leicester, and we were nominated six times across five categories, with Andy and Kelle delighted recipients of an award each. “We’re both incredibly humbled to win these awards,” said Andy. “It’s always great being able to dress up to the nines and celebrate the achievements of the industry and the company at an event like this. While the award is Individual of the Year, neither Kelle nor I would have won it without the incredible efforts of everyone at TQUK. The last 18 months have been a real challenge for everyone and I’m proud of how our team has responded.”
Kelle added: “I’m particularly delighted with how everyone in EPA has performed during the pandemic. Apprenticeships were hit hard by COVID, but our team has worked tirelessly to make sure Providers and Apprentices have been given what they need to succeed. Here’s to another year of bringing our best, driving the industry forward and raising the bar in EPA and Awarding.”
Tom Bewick, FAB Chief Executive, said “This year we received an abundance of excellent nominations for the FAB Awards, all of which were of a very high standard and demonstrated the commitment of our members to learners and the sector. I am immensely proud of how our industry has risen to the challenges of the last two years and I have heard and seen so many examples of excellence demonstrated by individuals and teams pulling together to support one another as well as centres, employers and of course learners. It was a privilege to announce the Awards winners this evening, along with my co-host Jackie Weaver”.
On behalf of the judges, Rt Hon Anne Milton commented:
“We were incredibly impressed at how well Awarding Organisations have overcome the significant challenges they faced during the pandemic. This has only been possible due to the hard work and dedication of so many staff. What shone through all the entries is the commitment to learners and to the sector as a whole. It was a privilege and inspiration for us to be asked to judge the entries and although not everyone is a winner, they are all worthy of special mention.”
Congratulations to all the nominees and winners at what was another fantastic FAB Awards!
